High boots & beige tones!

May 13, 2017

They call it Raincouver for a reason..

I am over this rainy weather and dark never ending days! Who is with me? I dream of wearing a spring dress while sipping wine on a warm patio but as the grey skies linger it appears that we will all be waiting for that here in Vancouver.

I have been wearing one of my favorite colors to break up the darkness but not getting to ahead of myself with the bright colors of summer just yet,  Beige! Still working with the trend of high boot just in lighter tones. In this outfit I am wearing a beige light jacket ( perfect for spring weather ) with black piping. This jacket can almost be paired with anything, it is a tighter fit, light but warm and works well with almost all seasons. It can really adapt to what you wear with it which is one think I love about it for this time of year.

These boots are my steal of the month! They were 50% off the already sale price at Aldo and the only pair left was in my size.. meant to be? I thought so too. These boots are a soft material which makes it very easy to take on and off and wear above the knee. I have tried on more than my fair share of over the knee boots and these stay up the easiest by far and are the perfect color to have in your closet for spring. I can pair these with jeans or a dress, or as pictured,  with tights and a darker dress. These are comfy , cute, and were on sale ! Great way to start off Summer shopping! ( yes that is a thing )

I wore a high neck black long sleeve dress that I got at Nordstrom rack and I am in love with it! It is very comfy and can be worn dressed up and down which I'm sure you all know buy now is my favorite. I am normally at work or on the road for 8-12 hours a day so as much as I love looking good I also love being comfortable and this dress is just that. I paired this dress with a sheer pair of grey tights to tie it all together.

I wore my hair a lot more "messy" than normal but this has quickly tuned into my go-to! I curled my hair with a 1inch curling iron , not holding it for too long and taking each piece a different size. This gives it the body you see but also keeps it more care free. I am really excited to soon be doing hair and makeup tutorials specifically for how I curl my hair and how I achieve my looks. Not only on myself but my clients. This look could not have been done without my dry shampoo! Kevin Murphy's "doo over" as I am a once every 4 day shampooer.. and if your not you soon will be too! Ladies nothing is sexier than tasseled beachy hair in the summer.

I kept this makeup look very peachy! I am loving the brighter tones on my skin tone and I kept this look very sheer but peachy. I used an Aveda Moisturizer to prep my face, Mac press powered to set it and Becca highlighter in champagne pop to highlight and keep my look very fresh. I paired a peachy nude lip from mac called "Back in Vogue" with my Kylie Cosmetics eye shadow pallet to work with the orange, beige and peach tones to create a soft and open eye. Just like we shop for new out fits for spring we also need to shop for new makeup. As our outfits and skin tones change we have to play with new colors on our lips and eyes! And in my case add a little extra highlighter and a little less eyeliner!

This look was shot by one of my best friends and very talented photographer Sasha! There is nothing better than someone you share the same vision with and together can bring it to light. That is exactly what she does with all of the photos she takes of me. She is also a very talented business owner and distresses denim for her company "TattrdThreads" Instagram: @tattrdthreads and speaking of Spring/Summer you have to look at her stuff! It is for tiny humans and it is amazing.

Summer is going to be here before we know it in the city and I know I can speak for everyone when I say I cant wait for floral patterns and bright colors to be making their appearance in our "ootd" very soon! Until then I can rock outfits like this to keep me inspired and excited for the sunshine.
